Happy New Years!
Andy and I hosted the best New Years Eve party I could have asked for! Everything went smoothly and we spent our evening with amazing friends:) My best from moved to California to pursue her acting career and she came back to visit and was able to make it to our party. LOVE HER. We decorated and cooked all day! We gave party favors to our guests, made a make shift 'photo booth' and served awesome food. Banana pudding shots, cilantro-lime shrimp salsa, bacon wrapped pork loin, bruschetta, mini-pepper nachos, and bite-sized BBQ chicken bites were on the menu. Complete with confetti, balloons, a pennant banner,  champagne and candles, the night was a huge success!

Sophia's Christmas Present
DIY Play Kitchen

First of all, my dad made this beautiful kitchen for his
first granddaughter. He is amazing and extremely
talented. He got the measurements off of another
blog and he went from there! Complete with an oven,
microwave, the drawer underneath the oven and a
little refrigerator on the left side (YOU ROCK DAD), all I added was the sink and the faucet! I choose to paint the kitchen white and then add a pop of color with the curtains. (I got the fabric at Hobby Lobby) The curtains are no sew and were very easy. I took fabric glue and glued the bottom of curtain for a finished look and then wrapped the fabric around the a tension rod, safety pinned the fabric and VOILA!  For the microwave 'buttons,' I used black stickers and the spray painted old c.d.'s for the stove top.

Christmas Decor!
Trees, trees and more trees! A little wire, a couple of foam trees, paint and glitter = some pretty fun Christmas decor;)
These 2 wacky trees and are a cute pair. I bought some gold wire at Walmart and wrapped it around a foam tree.  A cute jingle bell hot glued at the top adds the perfect touch!
I literally poured glue all over this foam tree and dumped it in glitter!

White feathers and pearls and gold burlap
ribbon and a fancy button make these 2 trees
cute!

My tree forest!

A shadow box from Hobby Lobby (you know I waited
until it was 50% off) and some chevron tissue paper paired
with 2 bags of red jingle bells (also from Hobby Lobby) finished
with vinyl letters 'Jingle all the Way' made for such
a modern and easy decoration!

Vintage Love sign on reclaimed wood:
Thanks in large part to my dad (:-)), this sign turned out to be exactly what I wanted! We measured the wood (which I bought for $5, 3 years ago at a little flea market) and then taped off the sections of where the letters went. Each section is 11 in. and then there is 2 in. in between each section. After that we taped off the letters, I painted it and then attached the bow which my sister in law made for me last year.  LOVE this project;)

Summer Flower Arrangements
I found these awesome tins at an estate sale last weekend and I only paid $1 for all 3! I knew I could do something with them so I made them into flower 'pots'. Andy drilled 3 holes in 2 of the tins and then I used the third tin as a mini rock garden. I filled it with some rocks I had bought from Walmart in the craft section and then poured water over them.

Sugar & Flour!
A teacher I work with at school has a side business called Say Its. She made me these vinyl letters to put on my glass containers that I store my sugar and flour in!

 Halloween! Fall! Pumpkins!
My crafty friends and I got together and painted these FAB-ulous pumpkins! For the glitter pumpkins, we sprayed them with glue adhesive and then dipped them into a huge bowl of glitter! We used ribbon and buttons from WalMart to decorate the a few of the pumpkins, funky Halloween letters that I also found at WalMart and then black card stock paper cut into circles, dipped into glitter. It was an awesome project!

October 25, 2013

My friends and I spray painted this long piece of window trim that I purchased from Menards. I then took black and white pics that my grandfather had taken when he was in the service and put them on black matting. I used double sided tape to make them stick to the wall and laid them in the groove of the window trim.

With all of the cards we received when Sophia was born, I cut them into circles and put them in a frame to hang in her nursery:) I used scrapbook paper for the background. Instead of keeping a huge stack of cards, I kept a little piece of each one!

Andy and I sanded and painted an old oak hutch and made it our own! We took off the back and the doors to the top. We like the open look. We put our vintage red dishes and some other things on the shelves. Someday soon we hope to distress the hutch to make it look old and vintage.

Andy and mother in law painted the chevron and with the help of my friends, we painted and crafted the frames!

@Angie Sime and I tackled this little work of art and it turned out amazing!! Thank you Angie for everything:)

We took an old wooden dresser and gave it a nice new coat of paint and some cute knobs! It will go in Sophia's nursery!

Earring holder I made out of an old print cartridge tray.

We had guests sign vintage plates at our wedding last Fall and then we hung them in a diamond shape below the loft in our new home! Thank you so much to my dad!

Wine glass holder I made out of an old rake head.
